Fillings have long been a solution to stop cavities from reinfecting a tooth. However, today they don’t show up as silver in your mouth. Options now focus on composite fillings that look like natural teeth.
Dentists no longer use silver amalgam fillings. It was shown they contain mercury and that is unhealthy. Dental professionals now rely on ceramic and resin that produces a natural-looking result. Composite fillings are durable and can last up to 10 years.
A local anesthetic is applied. First, a numbing gel is applied topically before getting the injection that numbs the area.
