Well-Orchestrated
Planning

At Mall Road Dental, we believe a good experience starts with proper planning. You will consult with your oral surgeon to discuss your surgery. You will decide on your sedation and have an opportunity to ask questions.

Surgery Day

The oral surgeon will make gum incisions to place metal posts into the jawbone. In some cases, you may start with an additional surgery first to insert bone grafts into the jawbone to build up bone before inserting the metal appliances. You will receive either provisional teeth or a temporary bridge to cover the metal posts. You will keep these until you receive your permanent crowns.

Post Surgery

You will have some pain along with bruising. Your gums will swell. Your oral surgeon will prescribe pain medication, and you should also stock up on over-the-counter medication. Your gums will heal over six weeks while the implants fuse with your jawbone. This requires a soft diet until your gums have completely healed.

Getting Permanent Teeth

A follow-up visit at Mall Road Dental will result in you obtaining permanent teeth. Our surgeon will remove the temporary structure and attach crowns to the implants. You may still have diet restrictions and will be given other instructions for aftercare.
